India Pavilion at BIO San Diego 2024 gets off to great start

The India Pavilion set up at the world’s largest biotech convention, BIO San Diego, with more than top 30 biotech industry and government institutions was inaugurated jointly by Dr Jitendra Kumar, MD-BIRAC and Dr Rakesh Adlakha, Deputy Consul General of India in San Francisco. ABLE President, Mr G S Krishnan joined the ribbon cutting on the occasion. Other key dignitaries present include Dr P M Murali, President of ABLE Council of Presidents and Ms Parnika Pavanram, GM (Biotech) of KITS, Karnataka Government.

The dignitaries also released a copy of the India Biotech Handbook 2024 brought out by ABLE Secretariat to show case India’s biotech strengths and also details about the participants in the India Pavilion. Mr Narayanan Suresh, COO, ABLE, handed over the copies to the visiting delegations.

The 1500 square feet was a beehive of activities long before the official inauguration with industry leaders taking up position in their shiny booths early in the day to welcome visitors from around the country to collaborate with our tech leaders.

Dr Adlakha, on the occasion, outlined the need for closer cooperation between our biotech companies and the world as we try to maintain robust supply chain delivery systems to face future challenges. Dr Jitendra Kumar, spoke about the government’s efforts to encourage bio manufacturing capabilities in the country. Mr Krishnan urged our industry to take part in large numbers in global meetings organized by ABLE to fully leverage our impressive bio manufacturing strengths in many sectors and look at the whole world as our markets.
